With restrictions on overseas travel, Australians have looked to their own backyard for travel and holiday destinations.

No longer is it just the grey nomads hitting the pavement of this wide open country, singles, couples and young families are also getting in the mix and creating their own adventures.

With so many great sights to see throughout Australia and many towns doing it tough due to lack of international visitors, it’s great to see locals holidaying in their our own backyard. Whilst there has been a massive increase in the cost of leisure vehicles such as boats, caravans and four wheel drives, it hasn’t stopped a large number of adventurous Aussies exploring the country and also documenting their travels be it via Youtube, Instagram or a personal blog.

If you are looking for some great inspiration to pack up the car and hit the road then check out the following list.
